XXII Dainava Country Music Festival: from orchestras to spectators on the yoga mat
The Dainava Country Music Festival, an inseparable summer cultural event in Alytus, is back for the 22nd time, inviting Alytus residents and visitors to immerse themselves in the sounds of professional music.
From 16-30 June, the festival organisers will invite you to hear, experience and see six concerts in four different city spaces.
The festival concerts will feature not only the Alytus Music School Youth Symphony Orchestra "Svajonė", beloved by Alytus residents, but also major Lithuanian orchestras - chamber orchestra and symphonic wind orchestra.
The festival will also feature performances by the popular classical group Il senso, which showed a new sound in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, the chamber ensemble Quattro Patate, and the Piano Phase Project, a piano duo that has never performed in Alytus before.
Have you ever listened to music while lying in the pine trees, meditating? The Piano Phase Project, a duo of pianists Monika Lozinskiene and Anna Szałucka (Poland/UK), invites you to immerse yourself in this experience. They will perform works by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, George Gershwin and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and will engage the audience in relaxation meditations, Tibetan bowls, rain and wind instruments. This musical experience will be complemented by texts by musicians Kenny Warner, Victor Wooten, and composer Mikolaj Konstantin Čiurlionis.
Already experienced and missed or new musical experiences will be waiting for everyone at the Dainava Country Music Festival concerts on 16-30 June in Alytus! The full festival programme is coming soon.
