16 June During the opening concert, the XXII Dainava Country Music Festival was performed at the Alytus City Theatre, and a bouquet of classical music was presented to Alytus residents and guests by the Musica Humana ensemble, the Baltic Solo Choir and soloists. 18 June. The programme "Music is like cinema" by the Youth Symphony Orchestra "Svajonė" of the Alytus Music School was performed at the amphitheatre of the Alytus Culture Centre. On 20 June, the piano duo Piano Phase Project invited to a sound meditation. The festival programme includes 3 more concerts, one of which will be performed by the popular classical group Il Senso. We talk to one of the band members, Indre Anankaite from Alytus, about the upcoming concert, Il Senso and how it feels to perform in her hometown
- Indre, you are probably well known to many Alytus residents, we have heard you in concerts of various genres, we have seen you on the big stages of the country, in Eurovision selection. And what are the feelings you get when you know that you will be singing in your home country?
It's always a great feeling to perform in your hometown. I look forward to performing in Alytus not only because I get to see my family, my Mum and Dad, but also because I meet a lot of people I know and it's always nice to hug them after a concert. My former teachers, friends, classmates, their parents come and then my heart beats even harder because the responsibility seems to be even greater. There are always tears of joy in my eyes and I wish the concert would never end.
- Introduce Il Senso briefly, how long have you been together, what are your values?
- Group „Il Senso“ is a quartet of opera soloists, bringing together four distinctive voices, each with its own unique charm. The group is characterised by its individual talents and the harmonious blend of voices that results in a spectacular musical flood. All four performers are not only colleagues on stage but also friends in life. We formed the band in 2020, during a quarantine period when all life, especially musical life, was at a standstill. And we didn't want it to stop. We wanted to continue singing and spreading the beauty of music. And it looks like we have succeeded. IL SENSO translates from Italian as "THE BEGINNING". Our greatest goal and value is to perform our music in a meaningful way and to leave no one indifferent.
- This year you will also delight the audience of the Dainava Country Music Festival with your concert. Paint a picture for the people of Alytus and the guests of the city, why should you come to this Il Senso concert?
- We will be arriving in Alytus very soon. This will be the band's first concert in Alytus, and I am especially looking forward to it. We have performed all over Lithuania, even across the Atlantic, but in Alytus the four of us have never been on the same stage before. „Il Senso“ The concert will feature some of the most beautiful songs, which will not only be very sensitive, but will also invite the audience to move a little, to sing along with us. We always have a very warm and sincere way of conducting our concerts, telling the audience about the songs we play and about the band itself. There is no shortage of laughter and good humour. I am sure there will be no shortage of surprises during the Dainava Country Music Festival concert. Is it worth attending our concert? Definitely yes. It is said that it is better to see it once with your own eyes than to hear about it 10 times from other people's lips.
- We can see that Il Senso is not only becoming better known, but also taking on more and more interesting challenges, can you tell us what the group's future plans are? Is it going to be a busy summer?
- Group „Il Senso“ A week ago, Il Senso finished their tour of Lithuania together with the Plungė Symphony Orchestra at the Palanga Concert Hall. It was the most amazing time. This summer we also have concerts planned throughout Lithuania. In the autumn we will have 10 concerts with the orchestra. We are happy that the public loves us. We see how warmly we are received by the audience at every performance. We are for you and with you. Come and meet us on 26 June in Alytus. We are looking forward to seeing you.
